Junior Pony Club
"Junior Pony Club" is an unmounted program for our youngest members. The program is designed to introduce children aged 4-8 and their parents to Pony Club. The initial goal of Junior Pony Club is to provide a safe learning environment to introduce youth to horses. We practice how to behave around horses and stress safety and respect in all that we do.
At weekly meetings, children will learn about horses, colors, breeds, tack, feeding, grooming, and what is required to take care of your own pony. The program is pre-reader friendly, activity based, and hands-on. All kids will have the opportunity to practice grooming a real pony, visit a tack shop, and clean out a horse stall. Parents will learn how to keep their children safe around horses, how to select a good youth instructor, and eventually how to find the "perfect pony". Its a great way to determine if your child is actually ready to take the next step and begin riding.
All material costs are included in the registration fee for each session.

Let's Ride with Junior Pony Club
"Let's Ride with JPC" is a mounted program for our youngest members. To participate, you must have graduated from the Junior Pony Club - Unmounted Program and have the approval of the Pierport Pony Club DC. Again safety is the most important aspect of what we do in pony club. Kids will attend a weekly meeting together to continue to learn about horse management, and each child and their parent will have a mounted lesson run by the DC and other Pony Club volunteers.
