Testing Preparation:
What to Wear:
What to Bring:
- Clean and inspect tack for fit and to ensure it is in good repair.
- Wash your saddle pad.
- Wash your grooming equipment.
- If appropriate, bathe your horse either the night before or the morning of the testing.
- Review the D-level Checklists and practice answering questions with your parent or another pony club member. When looking over the D-level Checklists, there are portions that say “with assistance”. This means the examiner is allowed to prompt the members or assist with a task. Unless there is immediate concern for the safety of a child, at no point may a parent coach a member or assist during a testing.

What to Wear:
- Pierport Pony Club Polo tucked in to your breeches
- Breeches with a belt (if your breeches have belt loops)
- Riding helmet
- Riding boots
- Pony Club Pin
- No other jewelry
- Hair pulled back and secured
What to Bring:
- Hay bag with some hay
- Water bucket
- Pitch fork
- Small sample of what you feed your horse in a plastic baggie
- Filled out Medical Armband form
- Filled out Stall Card
- Grooming equipment
- English tack
- Halter and lead rope (This does not need to be a show halter, just a halter in good repair that you are used to using.)
- A good attitude, confidence, and a smile.
